Miami's Children Museum has officially opened Dino Island, its newest attraction, which has been created to take visitors on a journey millions of years back in time for an unforgettable encounter with the phenomenal creatures of the Jurassic and Cretaceous eras. Built on 2,500 square feet, the permanent exhibition is set to excite entire families with its impressive collection of dinosaurs in a stunning variety of environments, from leisurely walks to grazing to hatching or even fighting. The park is complete with a realistic volcano which erupts on a regular basis, sending up plumes of smoke and making angry noises.
The admission to the new museum facility is included in the standard ticket price.
Dino Island uses robotic technology to breath lifelike qualities into their nine beasts that feature a Tyrannosaurus Rex or a hanging Pteradon. They are built to contribute to compelling reality of the habitat and immerse visitors in the lost world. To enhance interaction, the park includes two stations – one encouraging children to dig into the mysteries of the era and the other one arranged to promote artwork connected with dinosaurs and their times. Children can even create their own dino to take home.
The exhibition authors see their key goal in entertaining and educating. Dinosaurs have been recreated to their original sizes in an effort to produce the feeling of overwhelming nature and stimulate children to explore their fascinations. Educational computer displays serve the purpose of providing immediate answers to questions visitors might have in the course of their visit.
The park, which is located in the heart of Miami, is believed to contribute to the city's attractiveness, affecting vacation rentals Miami has to offer and giving another reason for parents, interested in beaches or the local couture fashion, to bring along their children.
