Fashionista Gwen Stefani

Ever since she showed up on the music scene with the band No Doubt and a hit album Tragic Kingdom she is constantly surprising everyone. Not only in terms of music but also in terms of style. The thing about Gwen is that it is almost impossible to mistake her for anybody else. Gwen is simply Gwen. She begun with the alternative, ska music but throughout all those years of show-business activity she has shown her fans many different faces. As well her first solo album – Love. Angel. Music. Baby as the second one, titled The Sweet Escape and the Harajuku Lovers Tour promoting it were milestones that grounded Gwen’s position as one of the most prominent artists of modern times. She also became a recognizable fashion icon. Her ability to create fresh looks by switching styles and mixing completely opposite elements together is legendary. Gwen always looks great. No matter what she does. She is original and perfect on the stage and playing with her kids and husband in the park. That’s why it comes as no surprise to me that she decided to get into the fashion business. I would bet any money on her in that matter. This season she came up with her collection that is just like her – fresh and different. Will it be her another success? No doubt .

On stage we can see Gwen as well in combat pants and a tank top as in a beautiful dress that looks like taken straight form the fifties. There is absolutely no style she wouldn’t use. She is fascinated by Japanese Harajuku girls who are modern fashion rebels using every mean possible to shock and draw attention. Of course, Gwen understands that this approach can be a great inspiration but is simply to hardcore to be successful on the market. However, Harajuku influence can be noticed in L.A.M.B. designs. L.A.M.B. is the name of Gwen Stefani’s fashion brand that was established in 2004 and the acronym of the title of her debut solo album.

L.A.M.B. Spring and Summer 2010 collection reflects Gwen’s unique style. Her designs are light and nonchalant but womanly and sexy at the same time. For this season she has prepared another mix of trends: skinny jeans or denim leggings together with tunics and hard rock or military jackets plus high and heavy boots. This is definitely something for young, brave and dynamic woman who like to differ from the rest and feel freely. There is a lot of black and grey in the collection but also very intensive, red and blue additions and accessories that spice up entire outfits can be found. Gwen also likes animal patterns and is not afraid to use them.

Gwen wouldn’t be herself if the collection was one-dimensional, so there are some wild creations to wear at a party or a rock concert but as well are those more elegant and calm designs that are perfect for formal occasions. All of them go great with makeup (a’la Gwen of course): bright, porcelain complexion, red lips, and heavily underlined eyes. Street style mixed with a classic movie star look? Everything is possible with Gwen.
